The 2008 Harvest Party raised a record $514,000 in underwriting to benefit the Houston Bar Foundation.  More than 1,000 HBA members and their guests attended the gala event at River Oaks Country Club on November 10.  The Harvest Party is the main fundraising event for the Foundation, which provides primary support for the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.  Through HVLP, volunteer attorneys provide pro bono legal services to poor Houstonians in civil matters.
